Motorist arrested after boy, 11, killed in hit and run in Manchester | UK news



A motorist was arrested after an 11-year-old boy was killed in a head-on collision.

The child was treated by the paramedics on the scene of the accident in Beswick, Manchester, but his injuries died in the hospital.

A gray VW Golf, believed to have been involved in the collision at Albert Street shortly after 18.10 on Saturday, left the scene and was found abandoned a short distance away.

– A man later attended a police station and was arrested on suspicion of having caused death by dangerous driving. The suspect remains in custody for interrogation, the Greater Manchester police said.
