Heartstopping moment boy on bike, 12, flies around corner and is mowed down by London bus ‘after being chased’



This is the crucial moment that a 12-year-old boy is mowed by a London bus – after apparently being chased by another young man.

In the CCTV from a take-away the young man is seen flying behind the corner on his bike in Newham before he crashes on the bus and bounces off the sidewalk.

Another teenager seems to run after him, but he stops while slamming against the red bus door.

In the terrible accident, which happened last Thursday, the teenager reported head injuries, but these are not meant to be life-threatening.

The video, captured on CCTV in a take-away, was posted on Facebook with the caption: "Prince regents lane. Plaistow."

In the clip a group of teenage girls in the restaurant are shocked when the boy crashes against the bus.

"We sent an ambulance crew to the scene that arrived in less than three minutes.

"We treated a child from head injuries and we took them to a trauma center as a priority."

Claire Mann, director of TfL's bus operations, told Newham Recorder: "We're sorry to learn of an incident involving an itinerary 147 and a child on Prince Regent Lane and our thoughts are with them and their family.

"We are working with Go Ahead London, the operator for this route, and the police, to investigate this incident urgently. "
