Fortnite reaches 8.3 million concurrent players



Fortnite is a free-to-play third-person shooter with building mechanics. The title has become a cultural sensation thanks to its unique blend of expressive gameplay. In February 2018, Epic Games declared that the title was played by about 3.4 million players at the same time. Since then we have not heard much of the game figures, and many assumed that its popularity was influenced by other real battle titles on the market.

According to a VG247 report, the current number of Fortnite's competing players is 8.3 million. This is a huge leap compared to the February figures. Since the number is so high and absolutely unbelievable, the outlet has been extended to Epic Games twice and has confirmed its number.

This huge increase could be attributed to the mobile ports of Fortnite that have taken on assault iOS and Android. There are probably millions of players playing on a smartphone or tablet. Unfortunately, as is the problem with almost every multiplayer game, Fortnite suffers from cheating on almost every platform on which it is available.

The consoles are more interested. An XIM adapter allows console players to "trick" an Xbox One by thinking that a mouse and keyboard are indeed a controller. This allows certain players to bet more accurately and use other tricks to perform moves that are impossible with a controller. Fortunately, the company seems to have shut up on this because apparently people using an XIM adapter are banned.
